888 Poker Software
888 Poker runs on their own software that also includes some white label operators, so the site is not part of a poker network in the traditional sense. The traffic at 888 is very high and because of this there are many games running at different stakes and buy ins. Due to their large European base, traffic during peak times centers around the GMT time zone. The site also offers some formats (like 8 max sit n go’s) that other sites do not.
The 888 software is unique in that it is heavily focused on the novice player. From the poker lobby, the traditional list of games has been replaced by a game selector, so those who are less comfortable in picking a game from a list can use this layout to help them find a cash game or tournament to play in. The Quick Seat tab also can be used to quickly find a game based on your criteria. If you want to see all games running, the All Games tab is where to access all games being played at 888.
The software is somewhat customizable as you can choose a table theme, custom playing decks and personal avatar. There are a few fun features to software like being able to throw items, like tomatoes , eggs or trophies, to other players during a game. A downside to the 888 software is that game history is hard to find and it is not kept for very long. This can be a problem for those who want to review past games to see how they played.

I am a Washington resident, 888poker.net will not let us play real money, but why is it that they won’t let us play practice play? I don’t want to play real money, never have. So what does it hurt to let us play practice play? I lam sure that it could make a site for us to beable to play. I suppose it comes down to money making and losing it because we can not play real money.
It’s really frustrating poker sites restrict players from certain regions. 888 has a great poker room so not being able to play there sucks.
I speculate it’s a business decision made based on not being able to offer real money games in Washington as there are restrictive online poker rules in the state. Offering players access to free games does cost money in terms of support and access so they won’t be able to recoup costs / generate a profit from offering access to free games in the state.
